So strange to be in two countries in one day. So wonderful to travel an ocean holding your father’s hand when the ride gets rocky. Although it seems as if I’ve had a tough holiday, my father and I came out stronger than ever. We learned a great deal about ourselves on this brief sojourn, although I’d posit that the larger gift we gained is one of family. As I mentioned previously, my last day in Dublin was spent alone, flittering about the city and eating as many scones as one could possibly consume. I walked along the Liffey, crossed the Quay, roamed around Temple Bar, had the whole of Dublin Castle to myself when it opened, visited Christ Church Cathedral, wove in and out of shops on Grafton and George’s Streets, and walked in the rain in the park near Trinity College. It was a great day. A great day.
Seven hours later I’m home and settled in. Sorting through mail, answering emails and booking meetings, this week proves to be a busy one. I’m also dreading my slew of workouts that will no doubt leave me limping after a week on a scone bender.
